QUESTION IN FRENCH ?
Negative questions or negative statements are very common in French.
"Vous n’avez pas froid ?" - "Aren’t you cold ?"
"Je ne parle pas trop vite ?" - "Don’t I speak too fast ?"
"Vous n’êtes pas fatigué ?" - "Aren’t you
tired ?"
If you confirm that you’re not cold, that I don’t speak too fast and that you aren’t tired, you answer
"Non !".
If you disagree because you are cold, I speak too fast and you are tired, you answer
"Si !".
Make sure you do not answer by saying "Oui !" ("Yes"), as you would in English.
This would not make any sense in French, and the person you are speaking to will not understand your position at all.
